How to change Ardo washing machine drain hose

If the drain hose is leaking, you won't be able to fix the situation with just tape or glue. The same can be said about a situation with a severe blockage. The drain hose will also need to be replaced if it is the wrong size. But this manipulation is not as simple as it seems. You need to choose the right new corrugation and be sure to find out the reason for the malfunction of the old one.

How to replace an old hose with a new one?

Ardo washing machines do not have a bottom panel. Therefore, changing the hose will not be difficult. We prepare the tools: pliers, screwdrivers - and rags to remove excess water. Let's start the repair.

Using the emergency drain, remove the remaining water. Move the machine a couple of meters away, providing access to the equipment from all sides, cover everything around it with rags. Then tilt the Ardo washing machine back so as to expose the bottom. If this is inconvenient, turn it on its right side.

• We look for the place where the sleeve and the pump are connected (on the snail fitting near the pump).
• Carefully loosen the clamp that holds the corrugated pipe; disconnect its second end, located on the body.
• We remove the old hose and insert a new one.
• Having screwed the part onto the fitting, we tighten the clamp, then attach the hose to the body.
• We check the reliability of all connections.

Now put the machine back in place. After repair work, turn on the short washing program. Watch the hose during draining. If water appears at the joints, stop the machine and tighten the clamps again.

Why buy a new sleeve?

The drain hose is subject to a huge load during the working cycle - all waste liquid passes through it into the sewer. Therefore, this part is usually made of polypropylene, which can withstand not only temperature changes, but also aggressive detergents. But, despite the high quality of the material, the sleeve often wears out quickly due to external and internal mechanical impacts, and is also subject to frequent clogging. In what situations is it necessary to replace the drain hose?

• Damage to the corrugation. Frequent bending causes kinks, which later turn into cracks. The hose's tightness is broken, and it finally "breaks".
• Inappropriate size. Due to the specifics of the bathroom, the part that is included with the equipment when sold may not fit in terms of footage. Assembling a hose from several components is highly undesirable. The best option is to replace the drain hose with a new long part.
• Clogging. Often occurs due to user carelessness - garbage and foreign bodies remain in the pockets of clothes. Sometimes a thick layer of scale forms on the inner surface of the corrugation.

In private homes, the consumer encounters such a phenomenon as gnawing through the sleeve by rats and mice. In this case, we recommend taking measures after the repair. For example, put a special poison behind the Ardo washing machine, near the wall on the floor.

Selecting a new part

To buy a spare part, take the old sleeve with you. It is better to contact specialized stores that sell parts for Ardo equipment. You need to decide on the length: to do this, measure the distance between the sewer inlet and the pump. You should also determine the type of corrugation:

• Coiled - disassembled, consists of elements 50-55 cm long,
• Classic polypropylene, size from one to several meters,
• Telescopic, can be stretched three times, looks like a compressed corrugated pipe.

The cost of a new corrugated pipe is now low, so experimenting with sealants, glue, and tapes does not make sense. In addition, the need for such a replacement arises rarely. Therefore, we advise not to repair the old sleeve, but to immediately install a new one.
