The washing machine does not always spin laundry

The washing machine does not always spin laundry

Specialists of service centers identify about 20 problems with washing machines, due to which the spinning stage of things is to be disturbed. The washing machine often wrings out the laundry every other time, alternating a successful work cycle with an unsuccessful one. It is logical that everything is in order in one situation, and something prevents the home assistant from doing her job in another. Let's figure out why this can happen.

Linen is tangled up

If the machine sometimes wrings out the laundry, it most likely must fix no serious problem urgently. Usually, in this case, the cause of the malfunction is an imbalance in the drum, caused by the fact that large clothes or bed linen have gathered in one big lump. New washing machines can fix the imbalance and activate special protection, which will either start the slow rotation of the drum to disassemble the lump or stop the spin cycle and give an error code.

When this happens to your device, the fix is very simple - you need to turn off the SM, carefully distribute the clothes and run a separate spin cycle, skipping the washing and rinsing steps. However, if this situation occurs frequently, it is worth sorting out the clothes more carefully before loading them.

In addition, it is very important to keep the drum manageable. For example, if the maximum load is 6 kilograms, washing about 3 kilograms of things at a time will be optimal. If items are large, well-absorbing liquid, it is better not to add more than 2 kilograms of clothing for one working cycle. At the same time, there mustn't be too few things.

You should also separately consider cleaning the duvet cover in SM because this is the element of bed linen into which small things are usually clogged and create a large lump that causes an imbalance in the drum. To prevent this, homemakers often tie up the opening of the duvet cover so that nothing gets inside it. There is also an option to sew a zipper into it, simplifying its use and preventing things from getting inside during washing.

Worn motor brushes

When it's not the clothing that's causing the drum to be unbalanced and overloaded, the problem may be due to worn motor brushes. If these are worn-out parts, the machine may freeze during the spin cycle, which is the first stage of the problem before the washing machine stops spinning the laundry because the electric motor cannot work under high load.

To replace the graphite brush rods, you need a small set of tools that any home should have. In addition, we will need new rods. The details must be the same as those originally installed in the home assistant. Remember that brushes should always be replaced in pairs, even if only one is worn out. When the components are at hand, it remains only to prepare the tools.

  • Phillips and slotted screwdrivers.
  • A simple pencil or pen.
  • TORX wrench size 8 mm.

Prepare the machine for repair, for which you first need to disconnect it from the mains and water supply and remove the inlet hose from the body. After that, it is necessary to drain the remaining liquid, having previously covered the floors with rags or towels, to avoid damaging the floor covering and not flooding the neighbours. Place a water container under the CM, position it near the debris filter, and then open it to drain all the remaining water from previous work cycles. When all the liquid has drained out, move the appliance away from the wall to get to work.

The brushes are mounted on the collector motor, so you must first gain access to the electric motor. To do this, remove the top panel of the device by unscrewing the retaining bolts, and remove the back panel by removing the latches. Now you can see the electric motor under the tank, with which you have to work.

  • First, you need to remove the drive belt from the pulleys.
  • Then you need to disconnect all the wires from the motor.
  • Afterwards, you must unscrew the fixing bolts to remove and pull them from the SM housing.
  • Finally, you need to disconnect the brushes by unfastening the wire, moving the contact down and gently stretching the spring.

All that remains to be done is to install brand new graphite rods in place of the damaged ones, place them with the tip in the socket, and then return the spring to its original position. Next, you need to cover the brush with a contact and attach a wire to it, connect it to the engine, and then return the electric motor to the machine's body.

When the element is installed in the washing machine, and all the wires are connected, you must return the drive belt to its place. It is worth pulling it first on the pulley and then on the drum wheel to do this. After that, the rear and top panels of the case should be returned to their original position.

The completion of the repair will be the return of the home assistant to its place, connection to all communications and the launch of a test work cycle, which will demonstrate the serviceability of the equipment. At first, the machine may spark and make a little noise, but this will pass after a few washes as the brushes will finally grind.
